An idea takes flight…

Mark and Laura Kikel established Opinions, Ltd. in late 1998, working from the
guestroom of their Chagrin Falls bungalow. The company was founded with the idea
of remaining a small business in order to give our clients the best possible attention to
detail using a personal, hands on approach by the owners in controlling all aspects of
an assignment.

All that glitters isn’t gold…

Having observed several of our large-scale competitors, with the mediocrity, and lack of
professionalism akin to them, Mark and Laura felt that the key to growing a reputable field service
was to provide strict attention to intense training, following complete screening criteria, and thorough probing. All work is to be done according to exact client specifications, with the aim of steady daily progress in order to complete projects ahead of schedule. It sounds simple, but why expect anything less? It’s what makes Opinions, Ltd. a field agency that’s different… and better!

From small seeds grow great trees…

In February of 1999, our first mall intercept office was opened in Sandusky, Ohio. A small group of interviewers were hired and single-handedly trained by Mark and Laura Kikel. Since the very first day in business, we’ve invested countless hours with each interviewer through intense, continual training on all aspects of interviewing techniques. Their progress is continuously monitored, ensuring total accuracy and full compliance with correct screening and interviewing procedures. In April of 1999, Susan Gross and Stephan Carney joined the company, bringing with them many more years of experience and enthusiasm in the market research industry. Susan, with her uncanny ability for editing and shipping, became our quality control department. Stephan, with his many years of mall intercept management and excellent people skills, was transferred to Sandusky to manage the mall office.

Great results are achieved by employing only the best people. We only employ well rounded, success-driven individuals, most of whom are college educated. We have 9 branches: Sandusky, Boardman, Fairlawn, Niles, and Strongsville (in Ohio); Lakewood (in New York just outside of Buffalo); Barboursville (near Charleston, West Virginia); North Wales (near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania); and Burlington (in Vermont). With a marked increase in internet-based CAPI studies, all of our branches have interviewing stations fitted with PC’s with internet, and TV / VCRs.
