As a Data Controller, Opinions Ltd has a responsibility to process personal data in accordance with the requirements of the GDPR and all applicable UK data protection legislation. This privacy policy sets out how we collect and use personal data lawfully for: website visitors, people who contact us, people who take part in our research surveys and people who register on our research panel.
1. Visitors To Our Website
Each time our website is accessed, our system automatically collects the IP address of the user for the duration of their visit as well as information from the device accessing the website.
This data is not stored together with other personal data of the user.
The legal basis for the temporary storage of data and log files is legitimate interests.
Temporary storage of the IP address by the system is necessary to enable delivery of the website to the user’s computer. This data is deleted once the respective session has ended.
Data is stored in log files to ensure the functionality of the website. We also use the data to optimize the website and to ensure the security of our information technology systems. The data is not analysed for marketing purposes in this context. This website uses Google services and servers hosted by Stream9, both of which store data in the USA and have lawful transfer mechanisms in place.
If the data is stored in log files, this is deleted within seven days of collection. Storage beyond this period is possible. In this case, the IP addresses of the users are deleted or anonymised so that it is no longer possible to identify the visitor.

2. Contact Form And E-Mail Contact
There is a contact form on our website that can be used to contact us electronically. When a user completes this form the data entered will be transmitted to us and stored temporarily in our email system based in the USA. These data are

- Company (voluntary information)
- E-mail address
- Telephone number (optional)
- Free message text
The following data is also stored at the time the message is sent:
(1) The IP address of the user
(2) Date and time of registration
Your consent is obtained for the processing of the data as part of the sending process.
Alternatively, it is possible to contact using one of the e-mail addresses provided at the end of this privacy policy. In this case, the user’s personal data transmitted with the e-mail will be stored.
No data will be passed on to third parties in this context. The data is used exclusively for processing the conversation and request.
We use your personal data to process the contact or request submitted, so we can prevent misuse of the contact form and to ensure the security of our information technology systems.
The legal basis for the processing of the data is consent where the user has given it.The legal basis for the processing of data transmitted in the course of sending an email is legitimate interests. If the e-mail contact is be related to a contract with that data subject then the legal basis will be peformance of a contract.
Data Retention
The data is deleted as soon as it is no longer required to achieve the purpose for which it was collected. For the personal data from the input screen of the contact form and those sent by email, this is the case when the respective conversation with the user has ended. The conversation is ended when it can be inferred from the circumstances that the matter in question has been conclusively clarified.The additional personal data collected during the sending process will be deleted after a period of seven days at the latest.
Right to revoke consent
The user has the option to revoke their consent to the processing of personal data at any time. If the user contacts us by email, they can object to the storage of their personal data at any time. In such a case, the conversation cannot be continued and all personal data stored in the course of making contact will be deleted.
3. UK Opinions Ltd Survey Participants/Database Members
Personal data collection and use
When taking part in one of UK Opinions Ltd surveys, we may collect certain personal data from you directly. If your child participates in a survey, we will need consent from you as a parent or legal guardian. Your personal data is needed in order to facilitate the payment of your incentive and to re-contact you to join our database and be invited to participate in further surveys. You may also be invited to participate in one of our surveys via one of our clients and we will need certain personal data to pay you your incentive. The personal data we need to use is:
- Full name
- Contact details including telephone contact and email address
- Home address
For all of these purposes, we use personal data legally with your consent.
Storing and sharing personal data
We store your data in our database, Alchemer and in spreadsheets in Google Drive.. These systems are secured by technical and organisational measures which include: access restriction, multi-factor authentication to systems, encryption in transit and at rest, secure deletion processes.
We share your personal data with our project team based in the United States so they can pay your incentive using a UK Amazon business account. This transfer is governed by an ICO approved transfer agreement (IDTA) to ensure it meets the requirements of international transfers under the UK GDPR.
Retention of personal data
We only keep your personal data for as long as we need to, whether this is just to pay your incentive or manage your profile/account and survey invites on our database. Your personal data is held in our Amazon business account for 7 years after the transaction for statutory financial record keeping. You can withdraw your consent or ask to be removed from our database at any time, after which your personal data will be securely deleted and no longer used by us.
4. Your Rights
Under GDPR and UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Request deletion of your data in certain circumstances
- Restrict how your data is used
- Object to certain types of processing
- Receive your data in a portable format
- Withdraw your consent where given – this won’t affect how we’ve already used your personal data lawfully, but we’ll stop the relevant processing going forward
- Complain about our handling of your personal data. You can also escalate your complaint to the Information Commissioner’s Office (“ICO”) once we have responded
